expulsion.

there are so many grey areas in life. sometimes it is hard for adults to make the 'right' decision, lest the young ones. today, i was made to do a cruel thing. i had my hands in a student's expulsion. k. is a nice boy but he simply could not adapt to the regularity of a typical school student. his attendance says it all. i am sad. wish i could do more. i dare not reply to his mother's phone calls, unable to face her disappointment. almost two years ago, i had my first experience. i had loved and cared for A.d. i even bought A.d. a shoe bag when he was carrying his soccer boots in disposable plastics. i remembered that day clearly. he came with his mum. his mum asked for my name.  she thanked me for making her son smile after a long time since her divorce. i cried but he could not come back. today was different though. i managed to suppress my emotions. k. waited for his dad. we chatted a little during my break. when i got back to him, his dad was done with the documents. i was in time to send them off. it would be last time i see k. i cannot help but wonder whose fault is it when situations like this turn ugly. the teachers? the divorced parents? the school? or the child? being a teacher is not easy. am i even suitable to handle such a delicate job? i fear that i am too weak.
